Common FAQs
Q1: Can I use both proximity probes and accelerometers on the same unit?
Yes. The 3500/42M 176449-02 accepts Prox/Accel on channels 1 through 4. You can freely mix sensor types per channel.
Q2: What is the maximum cable length from sensor to monitor?
For proximity probes, keep cables under 305 meters (1000 feet). For Velomitor sensors, stay below 300 meters.
Q3: Does this module support external zener barriers?
Yes. With MTL 764 barriers, add ±11% error under radiated immunity. Total Velomitor accuracy becomes ±15%.
Q4: How accurate is the Not 1X filter at high machine speeds?
It gives ±3% below 30,000 cpm and ±8.5% above 30,000 cpm. For high speeds, use the 1X vector filter.
Q5: Can I replace a failed unit without shutting down the rack?
Yes. The 3500/42M 176449-02 supports hot-swapping. Remove the old module and insert the new one while the rack runs.
