Product Overview

The 330907-05-30-50-02-05 belongs to the 3300 NSv Series. Its product type is a Reverse Mount Probe. The product classification is Sensor, Transducer & Probe. The current price for this item is ¥4,850 RMB, and the product gross weight is 0.35 kg.

Bently Nevada manufactures this probe in the U.S.A. for process compressor applications. The thread option is M10x1 for the probe case. The total length option is 50, providing 5.0 meters (16.4 feet) . The connector option is 02, which includes a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with standard cable. Meanwhile, the agency approval option is 05, representing Multiple Approvals for international installations. Consequently, this 3300 NSv Reverse Mount Probe suits demanding applications requiring chemical resistance, long reach, and regulatory compliance.

Technical Specifications

Chemical Resistance and Applications

The NSv probe has increased chemical resistance compared to the 3300 RAM probe. This enhanced resistance allows its use in many process compressor applications. Additionally, the side-view characteristics are superior to those of the 3000-series 190 probe. These improvements become evident when gapping the 3300 NSv probe at the same distance from the probe target. Therefore, this probe excels in harsh chemical environments.

Thread Configuration

The probe case features M10x1 threads for installation. The reverse mount design comes standard with either 3⁄8-24 or M10x1 threads. The maximum recommended length of thread engagement is 15 mm for M10x1 threads. For proper installation, the maximum rated torque is 22.6 N•m (200 in•lb) , while the recommended torque is 7.5 N•m (66 in•lb) . Thus, follow these torque specifications to avoid damage.

Total Length and Weight

The total length option is 50, providing 5.0 meters (16.4 feet) from probe tip to connector. This longer length suits installations where the Proximitor Sensor must be located far from the probe mounting point. The system weight for the probe alone ranges from approximately 14 to 150 g (0.5 to 5.3 oz) depending on configuration. For the 5.0 meter length, the probe weight falls at the higher end of this range.

Connector Type

The connector option 02 provides a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with standard cable. All components of the transducer system use gold-plated brass ClickLoc connectors. These connectors lock into place and prevent the connection from loosening due to vibration. Consequently, the signal path remains secure and reliable.

Agency Approvals

The agency approval option 05 indicates Multiple Approvals for international installations. This probe meets regulatory requirements for hazardous area installations worldwide. For specific approval details, consult the product documentation or contact Bently Nevada directly.

Patented Technologies

The patented TipLoc molding method provides a robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. This design prevents tip separation under mechanical stress. Therefore, long-term reliability is ensured even in demanding applications.

Electrical Specifications

For a 5.0 meter probe, the DC resistance from center conductor to outer conductor (RPROBE) is 5.3 ± 0.7 ohms. This slightly higher resistance than the 0.5 meter version accounts for the longer cable length. Nevertheless, this low resistance ensures accurate signal transmission. Field wiring accepts 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) wire. With ferrules, use 0.25 to 0.75 mm² (18 to 23 AWG) instead. Bently Nevada recommends using three-conductor shielded triad cable for optimal performance. The maximum field wiring length is 305 meters (1,000 feet) between the 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor and the monitor. However, longer wiring may cause signal rolloff at high frequencies.

Linear Range and Gap Setting

The linear range is 1.5 mm (60 mils) . Specifically, linear range begins at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from target. This linear range extends from 0.25 to 1.75 mm (10 to 70 mils) . For reference, this corresponds to approximately -1 to -13 Vdc. The recommended gap setting is 1.0 mm (40 mils) . This differs from the standard 3300 XL 8 mm probe, which uses a 2.5 mm gap setting. Therefore, always use the NSv-specific gap setting for accurate measurements.

Mechanical Specifications

Probe tip material is Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) . Probe case material is AISI 304 stainless steel (SST) . The probe case thread options for the 3300 NSv probe include armored and unarmored 1/4-28, 3⁄8-24, M8x1 and M10x1 probe threads.

Temperature Range

The operating temperature range is -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +351°F) . Similarly, the storage temperature range is -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +351°F) . However, exposing the probe to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) for a sustained period may cause premature failure of the pressure seal. Therefore, avoid prolonged operation at extremely low temperatures.

Pressure Sealing

3300 NSv probes are designed to seal differential pressure between the probe tip and case. The probe sealing material consists of a Viton O-ring . This provides excellent chemical resistance and pressure retention. Consequently, the probe maintains machine integrity while providing reliable vibration and position measurements.

Installation Guide

Follow these steps to install your 330907-05-30-50-02-05 correctly.

  1. Prepare the Mounting Hole: Ensure the M10x1 threaded hole is clean and undamaged. Verify the engagement depth is at least 15 mm .

  2. Apply Thread Lubricant: Use a suitable lubricant on the probe threads. Do not allow lubricant to contact the probe tip or Viton O-ring.

  3. Thread the Probe: Hand-thread the 330907-05-30-50-02-05 into the mounting hole. Turn until finger-tight.

  4. Torque the Probe: Tighten to the recommended torque of 7.5 N•m (66 in•lb) . Do not exceed the maximum rated torque of 22.6 N•m (200 in•lb) .

  5. Route the Cable: Secure the 5.0 meter cable along a protected path. Avoid sharp bends and high-temperature sources.

  6. Connect Extension Cable: Attach a mating ClickLoc connector to the probe connector. Push until you hear a distinct click.

  7. Set the Gap: Adjust the probe position to achieve the recommended 1.0 mm (40 mils) gap. The DC voltage should read approximately -10 Vdc .

  8. Secure the Locknut: Tighten the locknut with pre-drilled safety wire holes. Install safety wire for vibration-resistant locking.

  9. Connect to Proximitor: Route the extension cable to the Proximitor Sensor. Finally, complete the wiring to your monitoring system.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the advantage of the 5.0 meter length over the 0.5 meter version?
The 5.0 meter length allows the Proximitor Sensor to be mounted far from the probe location. This is useful when the machine environment is too hot or too hazardous for the Proximitor. In contrast, the 0.5 meter version requires the Proximitor to be mounted very close to the probe.

2. Can I cut this probe cable to a shorter length if needed?
No, cutting the probe cable will alter the DC resistance and capacitance. This will affect the calibration and linear range of the 330907-05-30-50-02-05 . Order the correct length from the factory instead.

3. What is the DC resistance difference between 0.5m and 5.0m probes?
The 0.5 meter probe has 4.0 ± 0.5 ohms resistance. The 5.0 meter probe has 5.3 ± 0.7 ohms resistance. This increase is expected due to the longer cable length.

4. What temperature limitation should I be aware of for this probe?
While the probe operates from -52°C to +177°C , exposing it to temperatures below -34°C (-30°F) for a sustained period may cause premature pressure seal failure. Thus, avoid prolonged low-temperature operation.

5. Does the longer cable length affect the linear range or gap setting?
No, the linear range (1.5 mm) and recommended gap setting (1.0 mm) remain the same regardless of cable length. However, you must use a 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor calibrated for the NSv probe characteristics.
