Yokogawa AGS813-S10 Turbomachinery I/O Module Overview
The Yokogawa AGS813-S10 is a servo module designed specifically for turbomachinery control applications. This module receives LVDT or 1 to 5 V DC standardized signals for position feedback. In addition, it accepts 24V DC ON/OFF signals for quick close functions. The AGS813-S10 outputs up to ±50 mA signal for precise servo control. The "-S" suffix indicates the standard type version, while the "1" and "0" suffixes specify the basic configuration. Therefore, this module is ideal for steam turbine, gas turbine, and compressor control systems.
LVDT Input Specifications
The Yokogawa AGS813-S10 provides four isolated LVDT input channels for accurate position feedback. Number of input channels is 4, fully isolated from each other and from the system. Wiring types supported include 3-wire, 5-wire, and 6-wire LVDT configurations for maximum flexibility. Excitation voltage is 5Vrms at 30 mArms for powering LVDT sensors. Meanwhile, excitation current reaches 30 mArms maximum per channel. Excitation frequency is selectable independently at 2.8 kHz, 3.0 kHz, or 3.2 kHz. Accuracy is ±1% with input voltage range of 0.7 to 5 Vrms and minimum span of 2.5 Vrms. Drift due to ambient temperature change is ±0.4% per 10°C for stable measurement over time. When powered, input impedance is 220 kΩ; when not powered, it becomes 100 kΩ. Allowable input voltage reaches ±30 Vpeak for surge protection. External power supply requires +11.4 to +13.2 V at 0.3A. Finally, filtering is applied collectively to all LVDT channels.
Voltage Input Specifications
The Yokogawa AGS813-S10 includes four isolated voltage input channels for additional analog monitoring. Number of input channels is 4, fully isolated from other circuits. Input signal range is 1 to 5 V DC for standard industrial transmitters. Accuracy is ±4 mV for precise measurement of critical parameters. Drift due to ambient temperature change is ±4 mV per 10°C for consistent performance. Input impedance measures 1 MΩ when powered but drops to 100 kΩ when not powered. Allowable input voltage reaches 30 V DC maximum. As with the LVDT inputs, filtering is applied collectively to all voltage input channels.
Current Output Specifications
The Yokogawa AGS813-S10 provides two isolated current output channels for servo valve control. Number of output channels is 2, fully isolated from inputs and the system. Output signal is selectable independently for each channel at ±25 mA or ±50 mA. Accuracy is ±150 μA for ±25 mA range and ±300 μA for ±50 mA range. Drift due to ambient temperature change is ±50 μA per 10°C for ±25 mA range and ±100 μA per 10°C for ±50 mA range. Allowable load resistance is 270 Ω at ±25 mA but only 100 Ω at ±50 mA. Circuit-open detection is available for fault monitoring. External power supply requires +11.4 to +13.2 V at 0.3A. Furthermore, dither is adjustable from 0 to ±20% of the range at 33 Hz for hydraulic valve friction reduction.
Digital Input Specifications
The Yokogawa AGS813-S10 includes two isolated digital input channels for discrete command signals. Number of input channels is 2, fully isolated for noise immunity. Rated input voltage is 24V DC (sink type) for standard industrial signals. Input ON voltage ranges from 18 to 26.4 V DC for reliable detection. Conversely, input OFF voltage is 5 V DC or less for clear off-state indication. Input current is 4.1 mA ±20% for consistent loading. Maximum allowable input voltage reaches 30 V DC for overvoltage tolerance. These digital inputs are specifically designed for quick close functions and other emergency commands.
General Specifications
The Yokogawa AGS813-S10 delivers high-speed performance essential for turbomachinery control. Scan cycle is 5 ms for fast response to process changes. Withstanding voltage is 500 V AC for 1 minute between system and field circuits. Similarly, withstanding voltage between different input and output types is 500 V AC for 1 minute. External connection uses dedicated cables: AKB337-M005 (5m), M007 (7m), or M010 (10m) . Maximum power consumption is 500 mA at 5 V DC from the backplane. Total weight is approximately 0.36 kg for easy handling.

Installation Guidelines
Follow these steps to install the Yokogawa AGS813-S10 correctly. First, power down the Yokogawa DCS or ProSafe system completely. Next, select an available slot in the I/O rack for the module. Then, align the AGS813-S10 with the card guides in the chassis. After that, push the module firmly into the backplane connector until fully seated. Subsequently, secure the module with the retaining screws at top and bottom. Finally, connect the dedicated AKB337 series cable to the front connector.
Use twisted pair shielded cable for all analog inputs and outputs. When connecting LVDT sensors, follow the 3-wire, 5-wire, or 6-wire configuration diagrams. Set the excitation frequency independently for each LVDT channel based on your sensor specifications. For servo outputs, ensure load resistance does not exceed 100 Ω for ±50 mA range or 270 Ω for ±25 mA range.
